The Journal will publish rapidly, after peer review, articles that describe original research results; on subjects of contemporary importance, preliminary communications, viewpoints; reports or proceedings of conferences (which will be published as issues of the journal at the expense of the organization that submits the proceedings).
Contents must be written in English. The entire manuscript should be double-spaced on standard 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper, maximum 20 typed pages, on one side only with pages numbered consecutively. A cover sheet should contain the following items:
Measurements should be expressed in SI units. Alternatively, the conventional units may be presented in parentheses as well.
Figures and Tables. All figures must accompany the manuscript at the time of submission. They should be properly identified with authors names, figure number, place of insertion, and top of figure. Figures should be enclosed as original drawings. Lettering and numbering should be large enough to remain legible when reduced to fit the columns of the page. Tables should be numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals and headed with a short title. Each table should be on a separate page and the preferred point of insertion should be indicated in the margin of the manuscript text. Whenever possible, tables should be submitted in camera-ready form. Should the Tables and Figures be contained in the computer file, please place them as appropriate.
References. Citations in the text are by the name of the first (and, in the case of two authors, the second) author and the year of publication. Where there are more than two authors, only the first author should be named followed by et al. and the year of publication. In the case of a multiple citation, the order is chronological. In the References section the references should be organized in alphabetical order, providing complete bibliographical data, including a complete list of all co-authors. Journal titles should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus.
